Why most post-sale data never gets used

The problem

  • Spreadsheets are long and hard to scan.
  • Older sales get buried and forgotten.
  • No one has time to pull out simple answers.

What we do instead

Send only the detail you're comfortable with. Lot-level results are enough to find category, estimate, and sell-through insights. If you want bidder-level insights, include bidder IDs/paddles (no names needed). If you want payment insights, include invoice and payment timing. Your data is used only for your report and is never shared.

We're independent of marketplaces and fee structures, so you can trust the analysis.

Page 1 - Executive summary

  • Total hammer, sell-through, lots sold, and typical lot value (avg + median), shown side-by-side vs last year.
  • A plain-English "what changed" box so you know whether growth came from volume, pricing strength, or a more top-heavy mix.

Page 2 - Where the money moved

  • Price bands that show whether the low end, mid-tier, or top end drove the outcome.
  • A simple breakdown of volume vs price/mix so you can see if you grew by selling more lots or getting better prices.

Page 3 - Category drivers (consign more / consign less)

  • The categories that added the most hammer, and the categories that fell off.
  • A short sourcing priority list for your next sale.

Page 4 - Top lots + outlier check

  • Top lots from both years (hammer + bid counts) shown side-by-side.
  • A quick "how much did the trophy lots matter?" check so you don't mistake a few big wins for broad demand.

Page 5 - Player/subject movers + action plan

  • Which names/subjects surged or slipped year-over-year.
  • A clear action plan with 3 concrete recommendations for the next catalog (mid-tier strategy, category focus, trophy-lot dependence).
  • A short watchlist of what to monitor next time.

What we need from you

  • Two CSV exports from your auction platform:
    • Your current sale results.
    • The matching sale from the year before.
  • Optional: a few images of key lots if you want visual call-outs.
